Topic: OBEDIENCE THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Praise the Lord. We are going to look at obedience the key to our success. As we read on; we are going to understand:

(a) What is obedience?

(b) Consequences of disobedience and

(c) the benefits of obedience

What is Obedience?

Generally obedience is a requirement of carrying out orders that has been given to you.

What Is Obedience To God?

Obedience to God is to do what the Lord has commanded you to do.

Our obedience to God's holy will as revealed in the bible is for our own personal happiness and eternal welfare.

A study of the bible and of human history reveals that man's obedience to God's will has always brought happiness and disobedience has always brought man unhappiness.

This is why we have in the bible an emphasis on obedience. God said “the things that I command you observe them to do” (Deut 12:32). “If you be willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19) Christ himself set the example of obedience to the Father's will. ( Heb 5:8, John 6:38, Matthew 7:21).

If you read your bible very well from Genesis to Revelation you will find out that the word of the Lord is an instruction. In every situation, there is a part you are expected to play and there is also a part which God has to play.

For an example the Lord says “give and it shall be given to you. Ask and you shall receive and seek and you shall find knock and the door will be open unto you”. Matthew 7:7-8

You will never receive until you obey to ask and you will never find until you obey to seek.

The door will never open until you obey to knock.

Knock is a command which you are expected to obey: if you refuse to knock, the closed doors will not be open unto you. It does not matter how many years you have been hearing or reading Mathew 7:7 until you apply the word by obeying to ask, seek and knock, is when you will get the results.

Obedience is better than sacrifices and hearkening than fats of rams (1 Samuel 15: 22-23). It is not only enough to hear instruction but to follow and carry out the instruction then you will receive because you played your part.

We must not be hearers only but be doers of the word -James 1:22.

When you do what the Lord instructed you to do; then whatever needs to be fulfilled will be fulfilled.

I want us to understand the following salient points (most important points):

ü We are commanded to walk in the Spirit so that we will not fulfil the lust of the flesh- Gal 5:16-18

ü We are commanded to evangelise- Mark 16:15

ü We are commanded to forgive: when you are praying for forgiveness, you will not be forgiven until you forgive others and then you will have peace-Matt 6:14-15

ü We are commanded to be fruitful and multiply in whatever we are doing in all area of our lives-Gen 1:28

ü We are commanded to meditate on the word of God-Joshua 1:8

ü We are commanded to always pray and not to give up-Luke 18:1; 1Thess 5:17.

ü We are commanded not to worry -Matthew 6:25; Phil 4:6

ü We are commanded not to allow our hearts to be troubled -John 14:1

ü We are commanded to rejoice always-Phil 4:4-6

ü We are commanded to tell God our needs -Phil 4:7

ü We are commanded to bring our tithes and offerings to the house of God Malachi 3:8-12

ü We are commanded to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might Eph 6:10

ü We are commanded to put on the complete armour of God in our Spirit-Eph 6:11

ü We are commanded to love our enemies as ourselves-Mark 12:30-31

ü We are commanded to depart from evil -Ps 34:14

ü We are commanded to trust in the Lord -Prov. 3:5-6

ü We are commanded to live a holy life- Lev. 19:2

ü We are commanded to love our wives Eph 5:25

ü We are commanded to submit to our husbands Eph 5:22

ü We are commanded not to provoke our children to anger-Eph 6:4

ü We are commanded to bring up our children with discipline and instructions that comes from God- Eph 6:4, Prov. 22:6

ü We are commanded as children to honour our parents; so that our days may be long and for all to go well with us-Eph 6:1-3

ü We are commanded to abide in the Lord John 15:1-5

ü We are commanded to listen to God and obey Him-Deut 28:1, Deut. 8:1

ü We are commanded not to have other gods beside our God-Exo. 20:1-4

The points mentioned above are just few of the commands that the Lord gave to us for things to go well with us.

I want us to understand that: HALF OBEDIENCE IS A COMPLETE DISOBEDIENCE.

It is your responsibility to make sure that you obey the Lord because your obedience unto God will weakens the devil over your life. Your obedience makes God to open the windows of heaven for your sake and empowers you to rule in the midst of your enemies.

Consequences of Disobedience.

¹⁵ “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: ¹⁶Cursed shall you be in the city and cursed shall you be in the country. ¹⁷ “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks”. ¹⁹Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out”.²⁰ The Lord will send on you cursing, confusion and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me...... ⁶³ And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess”.(Deut 28:15-68)NKJV

Brethren, this is the word of God. It is better for us to live an obedient life than disobeying God. “He who digs a pit fall into it, and whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent” (Eccl. 10:8) NKJV

You see many killings happening in our nation. It is because of sin. Sin is a reproach, disgrace, demotion, hindrance, and always stands against anyone who lives a sinful life.

Devil has no power over your life; you are the one that gives the devil power over.

Your success depends upon your obedience to God. No matter your desire for breakthroughs and promotion, as long as you are rebellious and disobedient unto the Lord, you will not get it. When you are living a rebellious and disobedient life forget about good things in your life. The more you are living in disobedience the more you are empowering the devil and it is the more you are hindering God to do what He wants to do in your life.

Benefits of Obedience to God

Deut. 28 :1-14 ¹“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: ³Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country....

“Righteousness exalts a nation (person) but sin is a reproach” (Proverb 14:34)

Your obedience to God will make God to lift you up in every situation.

When we are telling you the truth it is for your own good. Jesus says” that you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).

“Promotion does not come from the east, west, north or south but promotion comes from the Lord” (Psalm 75:6-7).

It is what God has done can remain forever. It is what God has said that can remain forever. It is the kingdom that God have established that will remain forever. I am praying for us to gain this revelation. When you listen to God; if you walk in obedience unto the Lord, the Lord whom you obey will lift you up and set you over nations that are around you.

When the word of God is talking about nation around you: It is not talking about Namibia, Angola, South American, Africa or Zimbabwe etc. Rather, it is talking about people that are around you. Wherever you are; you will be above in every area of your life.

I want you to understand that you have no power to promote yourself. It is not by your work that you can get promotion. It's God who promote you when you obey Him.

I always used to tell you that wherever you are working, whether is a private or government sector, be committed to your work. Do not work because your boss is around. Do your work because it is your responsibility. When you are given another job do not murmur. Don't look at how much you are being paid. In your company you are representing God. As a student in your school you are there for God. You need to behave very well and study your books so that when you are excelling people will give glory to the name of the Lord.

God who gives understanding and knowledge will give it to you and you will be above you contemporaries. This is what the Christians do not know. When you Obey God; God will anoint you with different kinds of anointing so that where ever you appear; when you open your mouth to speak; you will speak wisdom because you have heavenly knowledge, understanding and revelation. You know what carnal people do not know. You can be able to do what ordinary people cannot do.

Once you are born again; if you begin to walk with the Lord, if you begin to obey God, no matter your family name, your academic level, no matter your past, no matter your environmental condition, you will excel above all.

o You will conquer where others are being conquered.

o You will succeed where others are failing.

o You will defeat what is defeating others.

o You will frustrate what is frustrating others.

o You will disgrace what is disgracing others.

o You will be honoured where others are being humiliated.

o You will be promoted where others are being demoted.

o You will be welcome where others are being rejected.

o You will excel where it was seems impossible for you, etc.

One thing I found in the bible is that: it was only few people have discovered this secret of obedience, they obeyed the Lord and their environment did not limit them.

No condition limited them, because they obeyed God, walked with the Lord and followed Him.

When you are walking in obedience unto the Lord you will accomplish great works.

The bible says that “be ready to punish all disobedience when your own obedience is fulfilled (complete)” 2 Cor. 10:6

When you start obeying the Lord not to doubt; then you can be able to punish doubt.

Whatever area you are struggling with; call upon God today to help you to obey Him. A CHRISTIAN IS NOT A SINNER AND A SINNER IS NOT A CHRISTIAN!!! TURN BACK TO GOD SO THAT YOUR LIFE WILL BE LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY THE RIVERS OF WATER WHOSE LEAVES DOES NOT WITHER-PS 1:1-4.

Conclusively, the grace to obey God is always available. There is enough grace that is more powerful than the sin that have ensnared you. There is grace to lift you up from any where the enemy has cast you down.

“Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound. But where sin abound, grace abounded much more” (Rom 5:20).

We have no excuse that the environment is so dirty we cannot resist sin; but the grace to resist sin is already given to us.

The grace to be a child of God in truth and in Spirit is there. The grace to walk in the light and not darkness is there.

Brethren, let us hold on this grace and walk in obedience unto the Lord. May God bless you as you have decided today to follow, walk and obey Him in all things in Jesus' name.

What must I do to obey God?

1. Take heed to the word of God-Psalm 119:9.

2. Delight in the Word of God-Psalm 1:1-2.

3. Trust in the word of God-Psalm 37:3-5.

“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it, but he who does ( obey) the will of God abides forever”(1 John 2:17).

PRAYERS OF REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for dying for me. I thank you for loving me. Come into my heart, forgive all my sin and wash me with your blood in the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus Christ! Remove my name from the book of the dead and write my name in the book of life. Thank you Lord. Now I am born again. I am a child of God, in the name of Jesus.

Prayer Points

1. Lord I thank you for your faithfulness in my life, in the name of Jesus

2. Every garment of disobedience over my life; catch fire in the name of Jesus.

3. Every yoke of disobedience over my life, enough is enough; break by fire, in the name of Jesus.

4. Every altar of disobedience manipulating my life; be destroy by fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every altar of disobedience controlling my children, enough is enough; catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Every power assigned to weaken me spiritually, financially, martially etc. Die, in the name of Jesus.

7. Every satanic dominion over my life because of my past disobedience, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

8. Every cataract of disobedience in my eyes hindering me not to see; be destroyed by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

9. You my eyes be enlightened in the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

10. Let my heavenly vision become clear, in the name of Jesus.

11. Let my heavenly understanding become clear, in the name of Jesus.

12. You my spirit man wake up, in the name of Jesus.

13. Anything in my life that always want me to disobey God, be uprooted and be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.

14. Chains of disobedience break and release me now, in the name of Jesus.

15. Seeds of disobedience in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.

16. Every blanket of ungodly fear which the enemy have used to cover my life, be removed and be roasted by fire, in the name of Jesus.

17. Every evil river, watering sin in my life; dry up, in the name of Jesus.

18. Every veil of assumption over my eyes; be removed, in the name of Jesus.

19. Any power assigned to manipulate me out of the presence of the Lord be destroyed by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

20. I refused to break the hedge of my protection, in the name of Jesus.

21. The grace to abide in the Lord, overshadow my life now, in the name of Jesus.

22. Every conspiracy in the heavenlies, in the water and on the land assigned against my breakthrough scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

23. Every satanic opposition against my progress scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

24. Every satanic opposition against the progress of my children scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

25. Every satanic opposition against the progress of my husband/wife, in the name of Jesus.

26. Every satanic red sea confronting my progress, die, in the name of Jesus.

27. Every witchcraft chain spread like nets against my progress; I command you now catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

28. Holy Ghost fire; blood of Jesus, anger of God, angel of God, pursue my enemies, in the name of Jesus.

29. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers, in the name of Jesus.

1. I lock year 2012 with the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

2. I open year 2013 with the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

3. Year 2012; you will not end with my life, family, children, spiritual life, in the name of Jesus.

4. Year 2012 end with my sorrow, pains, sickness, lack, etc., in the name of Jesus.

5. Year 2012 you will not write the last chapter of my life, family, children, marriage, health, etc., in the name of Jesus.

6. Year 2013 cooperate with me and fight for me, in the name of Jesus.

7. Year 2013 become a shield of protection for me in the name of Jesus.

8. I take authority over any voice assigned to condemn me this year, in the name of Jesus.

9. I take authority over any evil heart assigned to imagine evil against me this year, in the name of Jesus.

10. I command every conspiracy assigned against the children of God to scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

11. I command every divination, enchantment, curses, spells against the members of GGDEM this year to fall apart and die, in the name of Jesus.

12. Every charm prepared against my household this year will swallow the owners, in the name of Jesus.

13. Every poison prepared against any member of GGDEM this year, be neutralised, in the name of Jesus.

14. I take authority against every evil decree, written against my destiny, marriage, etc., spiritual life, in the name of Jesus.

15. I take authority over every evil sacrifice, prepared to pull me down, in the name of Jesus.

16. You my spiritual life in this year you will grow and no power will be able to pull you down, in the name of Jesus.

17. I receive strength to overcome every obstacle, in the name of Jesus.

18. Let the tongues of my enemies be divided, in the name of Jesus.

19. Let the plans of my enemies be frustrated, in the name of Jesus.

20. My frustration will become my fulfillment, in the name of Jesus.

21. I command every evil writing or decree released against me be consumed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

22. Year 2013, my family and I will rejoice and be glad in you, in the name of Jesus.

23. Let the charms and the charmer with their magicians assigned against me, husband/wife, children, business, job be consumed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

24. Every dangerous sacrifice done to pull me down be nullified by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

25. Every evil fasting undertaking against me, die, in the name of Jesus.

26. Every monitoring eyes assigned against me, receive total blindness, in the name of Jesus.

27. Every chains/traps prepare to catch me; catch your owners, in the name of Jesus.

28. I am unstoppable, in the name of Jesus.

29. My children cannot be stopped, in the name of Jesus.

30. I will live to declare the goodness of the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

31. No member of GGDEM will miss heaven, in the name of Jesus.

MY YEAR OF DIVINE INTERVENTION AND OVERFLOWING SUCCESS-PART 1

Blessed be the name of the Lord our God who daily loads us with benefits. May His name be praised forever and ever. Amen! Our God is good. A very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)

Brethren, we are welcome into year 2012. THIS IS OUR YEAR OF DIVINE INTERVENTION AND OVERFLOWING SUCCESS.

Let us pray: Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for bringing me in the year 2012. Thank you, Lord for this message, I am about to hear. Lord, open my understanding, give me the grace to receive and obey your words this year in the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!

Last year, was our year of Dancing and Rejoicing. This year, is our year of Divine Intervention and Overflowing Success. It is the year, that whatever, the enemy has twisted will turn around for our good in the name of Jesus.

Song: I SEE EVERYHTING TURNING AROUND; TURNING AROUND; TURNING AROUND FOR MY GOOD.

There are some salient truths, I want to tell you: There is a strategy

- In every environment you are going to enter, you need divine strategies that will guarantee you a success in such environment.

- Life itself is a discovery and you need the strategies that will help you to discover the secret of your success.

· As a student, you need Godly strategies that will enable you to succeed academically. You are not a successful student because you are admitted in a certain college or university. You are only successful when you excel academically.

· As a businessperson, you need Godly strategies that will enable you to succeed in your business. You are not a successful business person because you have registered a company or you own a shop somewhere in town. Your business need to yield fruits and also contribute to the national and global economy. Your business also needs to grow from a local business to an international one.

· As a married person, you need to know how to keep your home. Not just to marry today and tomorrow you are demanding for divorce. But to build a home which others will desire of, not a home which people will look and say if marriage is what I am seeing in the house John and Jane, then I do not want to marry.

· As a pastor you need Godly strategies that will guarantee you to succeed wherever you might be pastoring.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SUCCESS BY CHANCE. THERE IS ONLY SUCCESS BY CORRECTLY APPLIED STRATEGIES.

That is why even in this year, the Lord wants to give you the divine strategies that will guarantee your success this year. You may ask what is a strategy?

Ø A strategy is a plan which you have to apply in a certain issue in order to do it successfully.

Ø A strategy is a policy which you have to apply in certain issues.

Ø A strategy is the way you have to approach and deal with issues in order to be successful.

Ø A strategy is a system which has been put in place that will make the company successful.

Ø A strategy is an order, which has to be followed in order to yield results.

Ø A strategy is an outline which has to be followed on how the work must be done in order to achieve success.

Before we continue, let us look into the word of God. Luke 5:1-6 1 “So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch”. 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. Daniel 6:1-5 1”It please Dairus to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; 2 and over these three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the kingdom would suffer no loss. 3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. 4 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against concerning the law of his God.(NKJV)

According to the word of God, Peter was a busy businessman. Who was always committed and dedicated to his fishing business. Peter was also a successful businessman, because for him to own a fishing boat and some fishing nets it shows, how successful he was. Fishing boats and nets are very much expensive; no poor man will afford them. At this juncture, I believe you are getting a little picture of Peter's business. Another thing, I want you to understand is that apart from Uncle Peter being a businessman, he was also a responsible businessman. He was both a direct and indirect employer. Many businesses like supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and all the memes that used to sell fried fish, both at open markets and bus stops, depend upon him for fish supplies. And because of these responsibilities, he has to work all night long just to meet up with the demands of his customers. Truly, Luke 12:48 “ ...to whom much is given, from him much will be required and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more”.

But even though Peter seemed to be successful and hardworking, he does not have strategies that will guarantee him everlasting success. The word of the Lord said Psalm 127:¹ Unless the Lord builds the house, They labour in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guard the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. ² It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late , To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.“ So he was into business with much struggles and hardship until one day he met Jesus, just as you are meeting Him right now in this bulletin; and his life changed forever.

There are many people in different kinds of professions with much struggles and pains. For your life to experience God's divine intervention and overflowing success; you need to do what Peter has done and receive what he has received.

What has Peter done that turned his frustration into fulfilment?

A.YOU NEED TO MEET AND MAKE FRIENDSHIP WITH THE LORD: Peter met with Jesus and made friendship with Him, just as you are meeting the Lord now through this bulletin. Make friendship with Him by giving your life to Jesus and follow Him every day in every situation. For example, in our nation; it is hard for people to advice you to pray or to go to the church and seek the counsel of the Lord. They are ready to give you any amount of money to go to any witch doctor locally and even internationally. Isaiah 55:6-7 ⁶ “Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near; ⁷Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon”. (NKJV) Do not continue in your wicked ways, like saying, I will drink and forget my problems. Do not continue stealing because you have no job. Do not continue selling your body as a woman/man because of what to eat and what to wear. You cannot afford to waste your destiny on the bed of a woman/man who supposed to be your mother or your father in the name of sugar mummy and sugar daddy. Come to God and He will show you mercy in the name of Jesus. The Lord is available now! He is near to you, more than the clothes you are wearing. Tell Him, your problems because He can hear you and answer you. For there is no problem, that is too big that God cannot solve. Joel 2:32 “And it shall come to pass that, whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Salvation is available for you. Do not look at your past sins, it does not matter how many abortions you have committed. Are you a witch/wizard? Are you an adulterer/adulteress? Are you a fornicator, etc? Come to Him because salvation is available for you. God does not hate you but He hates the evil works you are doing. God does not want to destroy you but He wants to destroy the evil works you are doing. May God bless you as you listen to His voice, Isaiah 1:18.

B. GIVE THE FIRST PLACE OF YOUR LIFE TO GOD: For you to be successful this year; you need to give God a first place in your life. Your true success and everlasting success depends on how you regard God in your heart. The greatest commandment which the Lord has commanded us above all, is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our strength, Deuteronomy 6:5. It means, we have to love God above ourselves. That is, what it means, to give God the first place in our lives. For example, if God and you come in a certain place and there is only one chair, you will wilfully and joyfully give the chair to God to sit and you chose to remain standing. We show how we love God by obeying Him. We show our obedience to God by doing what He commanded us to do. John 14:15”If you love Me keep my commandments”. (NKJV) Child of God, I don't know which area of your life which the Lord is asking you to give to Him. I don't know how many years, He has been asking you to give Him that place of your life. The reason why you are struggling is because of your lack of surrender to God. You sow much but you reaped a little. You have toiled for many years with nothing to show forth. Exodus 23:25-26 ²⁵“So you shall serve the Lord your God and He will bless your bread and water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. ²⁶“No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfil the number of your days”. Mostly, we want God to bless our bread and water. We want God to take sickness away from us. We do not want to suffer any form of miscarriage and barrenness. We also want to fulfil the number of our days. But, these are the benefits, which can only be received by anyone who serve God. Proverb 3:9-10 ⁹“Honour the Lord with your possessions. And with the first fruits of all your increase; ¹0 So your barns will be filled with plenty. And your vats will overflow with new wine”. (NKJV) Peter did not only serve God with his own life but also, he gave God the boat, that is what is meant to serve God with your possessions which includes your time, finances, properties, etc. Peter ended up catching a great number of fish and their net was breaking because he served God with his possession (which was his boat) and God fulfilled his promises.

C. SIT AT THE FEET OF JESUS AND LISTEN TO HIS TEACHINGS: If you have never been born again and attend church services regularly, it is time to do so now. It is very important to be in the house of God and listen to the word of God. It is in the presence of God that you will be equipped to face the challenges of life. It is in the presence of the Lord that you will find freedom. It is also in the presence of the Lord that you will witness the mighty works of God and it will help you to believe, have confidence and trust in the Lord. Hebrew 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day is approaching” (NKJV). “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (NLT). Some people will tell you that you do not need to go to church and they will tell you that there is no place recorded in the bible that believers should gather and a specified place to worship God from there. As we use to go to filling station to put fuel in our cars, that is how we are supposed to be going to church to put fuel in our spiritual tanks. We need to gather together with other brethren.

When we gather together:

· we inspire one another;

· We encourage one another.

As a child of God, make sure you are with other brethren. It will help you in your spiritual growth and increase your faith because “faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of the Lord”

You need also to have enough time with the Lord, even in your closet sit at the feet of Jesus. In your daily activities; create time for God. Always create time to listen to Him and He will also speak with you through His word.

D. YOU NEED TO BE PATIENT AND BE OBEDIENT TO THE LORD: PETER WAITED PATIENTLY UNTIL THE LORD FINISHED USING HIS BOAT:. Many times, we want the Lord to bless us but we are not ready to give God our boats. When we give to God; we attached our own conditions of how God must use our things. We also go about murmuring and talking about what we gave, but until now God did not answer us. You found people counting how many times they gave to God but still no solution. I want to ask you, how did you give to God? Were you manipulated to give to God? Did you give out of man show ship because others were giving? Did you give with a murmuring and doubting heart? If you are in these groups, then you will never receive anything from the Lord. According to the word of God in 2nd Corinthians 9:6-7 ⁶“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ⁷So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver”. Therefore give and serve God cheerfully.

Jesus commanded Peter to launch his net into the water. Peter replied that he has been launching his net throughout the night but he did not catch anything.

There are two areas we are going to look into. They are:-

A. OBEY THE WORD OF THE LORD:

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch”. ⁵ But Simon answered and said to Him, “ Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing;

REPENTANCE PRAYER

If you have not yet accepted Jesus into your heart or you are not sure if you are truly born again. Please, pray this prayer with sincerity and confidence in your heart. This is your time to say YES to Jesus.

SAY: Lord Jesus, I come to You today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me of all my sins, and wash me with your blood. Remove my name from the book of the dead and write my name in the book of life in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus. Today I am born again. Today I belong to Jesus in the name of Jesus.

MY YEAR OF DIVINE INTERVENTION AND OVERFLOWING SUCCESS -PART 3

Blessed be the name of the Lord who daily loads us with benefits. For our God is good. He is a very present help in trouble.

Brethren we are still continuing with our topic YEAR 2012 “My YEAR OF DIVINE INTERVENTION AND OVERFLOWING SUCCESS!!!”

In the January bulletin, we discussed what this year is and what the Lord is expecting from us, His children.

In February, we discussed what will make us successful in our Christian lives; we talk about the Holy Spirit which anoints us to enable us to do what the Lord commanded us, and also enable us to overflow with success in every area of our lives.

This month month, we are going to look at how do the anointing of God comes to our lives and remain in our lives.

These anointing which we discussed in the February bulletin require our obedience unto the Lord. The word of the Lord says 1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

Before we go further, I want you to understand that when you obey the Lord,. The Lord will lift you up, no matter your family background, education or environment. In the promises of God and its conditions the blessings are supposed to run after you and not you running after blessings.

3 “Blessed shall you be in the city-(you shall be blessed in the town/city where you live) Blessed shall you be in the country-(your shall be blessed in the country) 4 Blessed shall be the fruits of your body (your children shall be blessed) Blessed shall be the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks (your job, business, and every good thing that you lay your hand to do shall be blessed) 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl (your kitchen shall be blessed because you will have enough to feed your family like the widow of Zarephath who was blessed and she had an overflow -2 Kings 17:10-11) 6 Blessed shall you be when you go out and when you come in (you go out with blessings and come in with blessings. In your office, business where you are working; you do your work peacefully and happily without grudges or murmuring. You do your work without minding how much you collect because you are a blessing. Wherever you find yourself you will become a blessing. (Deut. 28: 1-6) Let us begin to see who the Lord made us to be and the whole earth will be blessed because of us.

Before we go further, Jesus said that if truly that you love Him; you must keep His commandments (John 14:14). You show that you love God by obeying whatever He tells you to do, and also by keeping His word in your heart.

These anointing does not come at once. It has procedures. In Isaiah 40:28-31 “28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable, 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint

To wait upon the Lord; you must be patience because it is not your time but God’s time. God will only anoint you at His right time and not at your time. God also anoint you in His ways and not your ways. Therefore you must seek God so that you will be able to know His ways and walk in it.

Hebrew 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”

AS WE HAVE JESUS AS OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH, (HEB.12:2) THE CAPTAIN OF OUR SALVATION,(HEB.2:9) AND THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE OF OUR FAITH (EPH. 2:20,1 PET. 2:6).

LET US LOOK AT HOW HE RECEIVED AND HANDLED THIS PRECIOUS TREASURE WHICH IS THE ANOINTING OF GOD.

1. HE CAME FROM GALILEE TO JORDAN TO BE BAPTISED BY JOHN

Mathew 3:13 “Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptised by Him”.

As Jesus left His Galilee to come to Jordan and be baptised by John. You need to leave your Galilee and look for your John who will baptised you into the anointing of God. Maybe, it seems that you have achieved some great work in the past and you look that you don’t need any impartation again because many people they come to you for an impartation. There is still someone somewhere whom the Lord has ordained to impart you. Remember, Jesus the greatest baptiser who baptises with Holy Spirit and Fire (Math 3:11) came to John to be baptised also. Remember that this is the same Jordan which Naaman with all his leprosy refused to dip himself in. (2 Kings 5:1-19)

There are many people, God is telling them to go to so and so church and its where he will touch them and reveal himself to them but when they come there, they are looking at the pastor to know how many degrees the pastor is having, who and who is in that church and where are they gathering and how the building of the church look like. Please do not walk according to the flesh but walk according to the Spirit (Gal 5:16-17). Naaman despised the river but Jesus did not despise it. Do not despise your godly ordained solution place.

WHAT IS MY GALILEE?

What is my Galilee you may be asking? Your Galilee is a place that seems to be your comfort zone. For an example no matter how you seems to be secure in a rented apartment; you are still a tenant. No matter, how your brother or sister is providing you soaps, cream, food and clothing and also accommodating you, you are still not having anything. Do you know that your Galilee may be your fear, fear of what people will say that I was having five cars now I am going to remain with one. What shall it profit you to wallow in debt while you are owning five cars? It is better for you to own one car or not have one at all and be debt free than owning five cars and you don’t know how you will pay your instalment. Fear of starting a fresh, ignorance, or any type of habit which you indulged into which the Lord is telling you to come out of that place. For an example, you needed to take up a course to further your education but you are afraid of money. It is your Galilee you need to come out and go to your Jordan.

Many people fear to hurt others and those people have become a cover that covers sin. Imagine a child of God that need to stand on what is true and speak what is true, but he/she is afraid to hurt someone.

Many parents are afraid to hurt their children’s feeling and they cannot stand on their ground to rebuke their children. Many leaders are afraid to stand and implement the constitution because they are afraid to lose votes.

IF YOU REFUSED TO LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE, THERE IS NO WAY YOUR HEAVEN WILL BE OPEN FOR YOU. WHATEVER THING THE LORD IS TELLING YOU TO LET GO AND YOU ARE STILL HOLDING ON IT,. IT WILL HINDER YOU TO RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST IMPARTATION. MAY THE GOOD LORD HELP YOU TO LEAVE YOUR GALILEE JUST AS JESUS DID. MAY YOU STAND UP THIS TIME TO FOLLOW GOD IN THE SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH IN THE NAME OF JESUS (JOHN 4:24).

I SEE YOU COMING OUT OF YOUR GALILEE TODAY IN JESUS NAME. REMEMBER WHATEVER THE LORD IS TELLING YOU TO DO, DO IT. IT MAY LOOK SO FOOLISH, DIFFICULT TO DO BUT YOURS, IS TO OBEY HIM AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST.

Prayer Points:

1. O Lord, let me be able to leave behind anything that is weighing me down in my journey with you, in the name of Jesus.

2. O Lord, let it be to me, according to your plan in my life, in the name of Jesus.

3. I come out from my comfort zone, in the name of Jesus.

4. I conquer every obstacle on my way to my Jordan, in the name of Jesus.

5. Lord, let me locate my place of blessings and power, in the name of Jesus.

2. HE OVERCAME THE HINDRANCES TO HIS HEAVENLY ORDINATION

Mathew 3:14-15 14 “And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptised by you, and are you coming to me? 15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness”. Then he allowed Him”.

Pastor John tried to prevent Jesus not to undergo water baptism. It does not mean that John was against Jesus, that’s why he was preventing Him. No. He tried to prevent Him because he did not understand that it has been arranged from heaven for Jesus to be baptised by Him. John thought that he will only baptised lesser people but he never thought that among the people he has to baptised, that Jesus was one of them.

As an ordinary church member, did the Lord raise you up to be an intercessor for the pastor and the ministry? In your dreams and your vision; you always see your pastor in trouble and he is pleading with you to help him but physically your pastor is highly anointed man of God. Now you are wondering, how can this highly anointed man of God asking me to pray for him. He is the one, that is suppose to pray for me. No, brethren permit it to be so, pray for the man of God. Do not look at his anointing or how the Lord is using him. It is ordained from heaven for you to be praying for him.

Take Notes: The fact that the Lord ordained you to pray for the man of God does not mean that you must look down on him.

Bishop, are you willing to sit down and you listened to your juniors? Jesus refused not to be stopped to be baptised because he knew that there is an anointing in John that he needed. Remember that Jesus is the greatest baptiser who baptised with Holy Ghost and with fire, (Matt 3:11). He (Jesus) did not allow that to hinder him not to be baptised by John with ordinary water. Jesus knew that to been baptised will fulfil all the heavenly requirements.

Bishop, do not allow your great achievement and your higher position to blind you not to receive from those that seems to have achieved and occupied low position than you in the kingdom of God. It is not by the position that one occuppies or the great exploit the Lord has done through you, but it is by which vessel the Lord has ordained to anoint you through.

Prayer Points:

1. Every hindrance on my way to my greatness, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every chains of pride, binding my life, break and release me, in the name of Jesus.

3. O Lord, enlightened my spiritual eyes, in the name of Jesus.

4. Any manipulation, on my way to greatness be roasted by fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every dark crowd of the enemy praising my wrongdoing, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Every congregation of the wicked, counselling me not to be where, God has ordained for me, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.

3. HE WAITED FOR HIS TURN

Luke 3:21 “When all the people were baptised, and it came to pass that Jesus also was baptised...

Beloved don’t rush for the baptism because you want to the anointing, rather wait for your turn. It may seem to be that the time is going and you want to be baptised so that you can go and do exploits for the Lord. It may seem like, people are dying in sin while you are waiting for God’s baptism. Are you passionate for the people of God that are hungry and you wanting the Lord to bless you so that you can feed the hungry? Are you longing for the anointing of counselling so that you can be able to counsel the people that are being counselled wrongly? Are you waiting upon the Lord for the impartation of the Holy Ghost? Do you now look at it, that God is walking slowly? God is never slow and He is never late for time and season are under His control (Eccl 3:1). Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart; Wait I say, on the Lord!

Pray against the Spirit of impatience and also ask for the grace to wait upon the Lord’s time to come upon your life, in the name of Jesus.

4. HE PRAYED FOR HIS HEAVEN TO OPEN

And while He prayed, the heaven was opened... 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “you are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased” (Luke 3:21-22) “When He had been baptised, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him” (Matt 3:16).

Brethren, I want you to know that there are heavens over the lives of everyone on this earth, the heaven over your life could be open or closed. There are many lives that are operating under closed heavens. There are few people who are operating under open heaven. As you are reading this bulletin and you have not yet given your life to Jesus. There is no way you will have open heaven, you will find out that your life is miserable, you are not happy, you are always in anger, always gathering and all of a sudden something will scatter it. You may have lots of money, but in the heart of your heart, you are not happy, you may not have been sleeping very well according to the promises which the Lord promise His children that “For so He gives His beloved sleep (children)" (Psalm 127:2b). Please bow down your head and pray this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to you today, forgive all my sins and wash me with your blood and make me a new creature, come into my heart Lord Jesus and be my personal Lord and Saviour in Jesus name I pray, Amen”. Welcome to the family of God.

“And the heavens over your head shall be bronze;...” (Deut 28:23). “When I shut up heaven and there is no rain... (2 Chronicle 7:13) Pray for your heaven to open. Don’t only be baptised in ordinary water. Don’t just go in the same and come out the same. Don’t go to Bible school and you come out the same. During your study, pray to have an encounter with the Lord. Seek God’s ordination and not necessarily human ordination. The fact that there is a heaven over your life does not mean that your heavens are opened. You need to pray for the heaven over your life to be open. It is open heaven that will determine your victory in life in whatever you are doing. Jesus secured His open heaven through prayers, so, pray to secure your open heaven because when your heavens are closed; there will be much struggles, frustration, confusion, disappointment, discouragement, defeat, etc? I want you to understand that there is nothing that can germinate or prosper under closed heaven. There are many women that wanted to move out of their marital home. Anytime they are going home; they were not happy. They always feel like not to go to their houses. Why? The heaven over their marriage is closed. Do you see why many people are jumping out of the boat of their marriage? It is not that their spouse is maltreating them, but because there is no joy in their hearts to be in the marriage. Whatever you are doing as a child of God, do not stop to pray to secure your open heaven. While you are waiting upon the Lord, keep the commandment of the Lord. Waiting upon God, it’s not always easy but you are in pain and also waiting and the Lord will surely answer you and fill you with his anointing. Just as Jesus prayed until His heaven open; pray until your heaven open. God bless you...to be continued...
